Enjoy
the fun of camping, the comforts of home, the peace
and quiet of mountains and rivers, and the conveniences of cities.
For Sale by owner
This is a rare opportunity
to own your own
piece
of
the Rocky
Mountains.
This insulated
year 'round
cabin has it all: beautiful river frontage in an
area where you can keep the trout you catch, a private
natural park for use
only by Waltonia residents, and a National Forest behind
the cabin with abundant wildlife.
This Cabin features a low-maintenance
true stucco exterior, a screened-in wrap-around porch
for enjoying the outdoors even during unfavorable weather,
(no mosquitos allowed!) and a great
moss rock fireplace to warm your winter evenings. Outdoor
patios and fire pits will enhance your enjoyment of the
cool summer evenings made complete
by roasting marshmallows. All of this in the midst
of a mature, natural
landscape, including huge pine trees
and abundant
lilacs.
This Cabin includes a reliable water well
drilled to a depth of 220 feet, producing an abundant 7.5
gallons per minute,
far
in excess
of most wells in the area. The well is court- approved
for use in watering the front yard and lilacs, so you
can enjoy a cool, green yard all summer. Good, well-maintained
roads provide year 'round accessibility to your "home away
from home."
There is always something to do at the cabin. Enjoy
fishing, hiking, bird and animal viewing, gardening, playing
cards and putting together puzzles in
the dining area, all the while luxuriating in your great view of the mountains
and river, the refreshing clean air, and the comforting
sounds
of nature. Or enjoy relaxing on one of
the outdoor patios, reading books and magazines and
watching the chipmunks scurry about. Bring friends and
family up to the cabin to play games and go fishing, or
enjoy the rejuvinating solitude by yourself. The screened-in
porch is a great place
to just sit and watch the deer, elk and bighorn sheep.
This cabin was lovingly built in 1927 using local-obtained
materials. We modernized the home in 1994 by adding insulation
in the
walls, ceilings and attic. We
also added satellite TV and phone, and paid to have the home brought
up to code with new electrical wiring throughout, as well as
copper plumbing. We hired Hersh and Sons to drill
the water well to give us a reliable, clean and good tasting
source of water. In 2004 we carpeted the upstairs
stairway and bedrooms to give them a warmer and more cozy feeling.
We have enjoyed the company of wonderful neighbors who have
become close friends. There are some full-time residents
on our road, but the majority either come
up only on weekends or during the summer to enjoy the mountains.
This is truly a rare opportunity to purchase a beautiful
historic home in such a beautiful area. When we bought this
home it
was only on the market two days
before it went under contract, due to the desirability of this unique home.
